
Sites Blocked hijackers, Malaysia Angry Citizen "It's dumbest move ever undertaken," said one protester.
The Malaysian government has blocked access to 10 sites to share movies and music in the country. As a result, thousands of residents joined in the virtual world to protest government measures which they consider to suppress internet.
Reporting from the page the Associated Press, Sunday, June 12, 2011, more than 6,500 people joined the Facebook group complaining about the government's decision. They said the Malaysian government has implemented the censorship of the Internet.
"I think that step is the stupidest move ever undertaken," said Suhaimi Satila Kelly, one of the supporters of the movement.
The Malaysian government on Friday last week to apply blocking in 10 popular video sharing sites and music. Malaysia sees these sites had done an illegal act, namely piracy and copyright infringement.
The measures implemented by the Ministry of Domestic Trade Information and Malaysia is the biggest step in to block Internet-based piracy. Earlier, Malaysia also heavily destroyed the various DVD and CD piracy in the country.
Although many who oppose this step, but the filmmakers in the country to support efforts to combat piracy site. One of them is a Malaysian filmmaker Norman Abd Halim.
